Day 3 was a really tough one for me and the beginning of Day 4 was no different! I was struuuuuggling! But, fortunately I was able to get some help and attention from the instructors and I started to feel a little bit better about what I was doing. Honestly, I’m still not completely happy with this study but I DO think that I’m in a better spot than yesterday. Check out the pics:
Now it’s starting to get difficult.
I became really frustrated today while I was working on this study. I must’ve been having an off day or something, I don’t know, but it seemed like nothing I did looked right. Plus I think I’ve fallen behind too…everyone else in the class seems to have their paintings much more developed by the end of the day. My study doesn’t look terrible, I guess, but today I just couldn’t help feeling incompetent! Anyway, hoping that I’ll be able to work it out in the next class! Here are the couple of pics I was able to take:
A couple of weeks back I made a quick mention about wanting to go to a Van Gogh show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Well in a few minutes I’m heading on up there! I’m really excited, but I don’t think I prepared well enough for the long trip. No audio books or nothin, haha. Well see how this goes. I plan on giving updates via Twitter, so follow me @purplpaintbrush to give me a shout out or just to check in throughout the day. Happy Friday!
Missed a few days of Artists in Black History because of some scheduling conflicts, but we’re gonna bring it on home now for the rest of the month!
I pulled this picture from my friend’s creative blog. It spoke volumes to me because I think as artists we have to keep ourselves motivated and encouraged. Number 33 was written for me! haha
Well, well, well…So it seems that I am still alive! And finally after many hours of trying to figure this out, I am ready to present to you the “new” look of Purple Paintbrush!
Yessir, it’s a much more cleaned up look than before. But don’t fret, if you miss the older version that I designed/coded myself you can always reminisce here. I finally figured out how to move my domain name over to a wordpress account (woo-hoo!), and I just customized one of the existing templates they had. I’m not good enough yet to code something this good-looking, haha. But I know I will be able to eventually. Until then, please enjoy this wonderful new layout.
Yeah so today I realized that the last post that I did was in March…Unacceptable.
I didn’t realize when I started this blog how much I would have to dedicate to it. I certainly don’t want this to be a project that I let drift by the wayside, at least not without proper warning lol. But I think it stands to mention that I get easily distracted, so there you go. I’ve vowed to put myself on a tighter schedule…so we’ll see how THAT works out, haha. And that includes making sure that I post more often. I need to be more productive! I’ve recently been inspired by a friend of mine. She runs her own blog, Vegan, What?, and has been posting a lot of great content pretty consistently (check it out!). I then decided that I need to get back on track with mine, plus I’ve missed you so…
Coming soon, Purple Paintbrush on Twitter and Facebook! Oh yes yes ya’ll. It’s about to get serious up in here. I’ll let you know.
And finally, more art!
